MY FIRST PART TIME JOB @myBurgerLab (MBL) OUG

*DRUMROLLS*
OK, I AM TOTALLY GOING TO ADMIT, I AM JUMPING WITH JOY NOW, BECAUSE THIS IS THE FAVORITE PART OF MY SUMMER HOLIDAY!! AND I GOT TO SHARE WITH YOU ALL!

Back then, when I first got the call from manager, I was so hyped up. After being rejected by plenty of the retail shops, cafes etc, (I had been going for interviews for Starbucks, MUJI, Guardian Pharmacy and more. Most told me that they had enough workers or I was too young and inexperience to get the jobs.) I felt like maybe I should just give up and indulge myself in a lifeless way which was to stay at home to watch TV or surf internet. But being a loser like this is never my way, I refused to feel gutted just because I failed in my interviews. Fortunately, myBurgerlab accepts youth who have heart to work, to learn new things, and of course to earn some money for ourselves.

There goes my first shift as a geek, (a name for workers that are working at MBL) starting small, learning sauces, pickups and more, had been troublesome as it sounds like. There were, in fact there still are various of 'stations' to learn from in MBL(within kitchen aka back of house) such as the assemblyline (to assemble burgers varying from sauces to patty and to pocket), G1 (for cooking patties on the hot ass griddle with hundred over degree celcius), G2 (for cooking tofus, eggs & food not related to meat), fryer (for frying of course HAHAH where the legendary Fried Chicken Thigh and Fried Chicken of Bulbasaur or more are done!), and lastly kitchen coordinator aka Cordi, the one who is responsible for all food that comes out of kitchen, sounds glorious, however it is actually the toughest because ensuring the the customers get the best out of the burgers are Cordi's job! (outside of kitchen aka front of house) We have got of course the cashier station, (where everyone makes a beeline outside of MBL to get the opportunity to savour the momentary pleasure of having good food, fantastic moment in MBL) and the Front of House(FOH), or what we call waiter in short! (who would not enjoy when you have gorgeous young man and beautiful young woman to serve you with food you have longed after a tiresome day out at work? Sounds awesome right? Wait not, grab a burger now!) Few couple months before, we have had an expediter aka EXPO too! But due to some reasons, it was then removed from our Lab.

I am much grateful for being able to learn as many as four stations while just being four months there! One of the most unforgettable experience and still haunting me in my nightmares now was being G1, seems absurd while I am saying so? Cooking patties only mah, got what so hard? (Forgive me for my Malaysian English slang) Try it, feel it, come back and tell me how's your first day heh. Imagine being burnt by hundred over degree Celsius griddle and occasionally been hurt by HOT OIL DROPLETS, it will DEFINITELY MAKE YOUR DAY! (sarcastically) Well, it doesn't sound that bad right? Wait until you have been in the shoes of G1! The memories of first night after being G1 is still vividly carved in my mind, I was struggling so hard that I even had cold sweat droplets trailing down my neck just by imagining it. Despite all those hardships I had encountered there, I now fully understand that the tougher the situation is, the more you have to take the bull by it's horn, nothing ever comes easy, if it arrives easy, you might not appreciate it as much as something you got by blood and sweats! Practice does make perfect, from zero to hero (just joking, maybe zero to 80% out of 100%?), after several weeks felt like being torned apart in G1, gloomy clouds started to drift away, and sunlight therefore arrived! I mastered what I need to know, skills, speed, cleanliness! Only sky is the limit! (this quote only sounds bad when it is used by astronaut! Pun intended, now laugh!)

NOW, DON'T LEAVE! PART 2 IS YET TO COME! STAY TUNED FOR MORE!
CAN YOU EVEN IMAGINE HOW FINGER LICKING GOOD IT IS? Not forget to mention, they ARE constantly hiring too!

Thanks Burgerlab! It was an amazing lifetime experience with ya'all!

Life is like a train, people leave when they arrived their stations, but new passengers would rush in! The point is to appreciate every single moment with them because you never when it will their station arrive :)
